South Orange Middle School will present the 3rd annual “My Black is Beautiful! A Celebration of Black History through the Arts” at the South Orange Performing Arts Center on Saturday, March 1 at 4 p.m.
For more than a decade, the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) has been at the heart of Arts in Education (AIE) programming across Essex County, positively affecting the lives of more than 8,000 students annually.
Celebrating its 75th season of concerts for the community, the South Orange Symphony presents a free Family Concert on Sunday Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. at the South Orange Middle School. Susan Haig conducts, and South Orange Village Mayor Sheena Collum makes a special virtuoso appearance in Leroy Anderson’s “The Typewriter.”
For South Orange Middle School students Ellery Beck, Nico Burbach, and Maeve Henry, the 2024 holiday season started early. Nutcracker rehearsals kick off in the early fall and the dancers are required to be there every weekend for hours to learn choreography and perfect their performances.
